Feng Shui Workshop

[11.12.09]  Take a break, relax, and enhance your inner qi at CASA’s annual Feng Shui Workshop, Tuesday, November 17, 7 – 8:30 PM in Union 3606.  Decorate yin yang sugar cookies, learn Chinese calligraphy, make dream stones, and learn about traditional Feng Shui superstitions!

[10.28.09]  When Halloween comes around, CASA knows how to have some fun! Meet the Panda and Wolf, CASA’s proud mascots. On Halloween, the Panda and the Wolf walk around campus and hand out candy to RPI’s students.  Look out for the Panda and Wolf on Thursday, October 29th for some pre-Halloween candy!  : )


International Festival!

[10.14.09]  Join CASA at the Rensselaer Union’s Annual International Festival during Family Weekend ~ Saturday, October 24, 2009 ~ from 11 am to 2 pm in the McNeil Room!  CASA will be selling delicioius Chinese food – menu to be determined!


Rice Event III: The Finale

[10.06.09]  CASA and Alianza Latina (AL) are coming together for the third annual rice tournament ~ Rice Event III: The Finale ~ Tuesday, October 13, 6:30 PM in Union 3606 (Shelnutt Gallery).  Join us and learn about the impact of rice on both the Chinese and Latin American cultures while sampling delicious rice dishes prepared by CASA and AL!  This is a tournament-style competition ~ Each club will cook 3 dishes, one in each category.  YOU get to vote and choose which dish is your favorite for each round.  Best 2 out of 3 wins the final event, the tournament series, and will be named the Rice Champion!


Harvest Moon Festival!

[09.24.09]  Join us for CASA’s Annual Harvest Moon Festival ~ Tuesday, September 29th, from 7 – 9 PM in Mother’s at the Union.  Learn about the stories behind the Harvest Moon Festival while enjoying a variety of delicious refreshments.  We’ll be serving samples of mooncake (several flavors!), bubble tea, mini egg tarts, and almond tofu punch!  You’ll also have the opportunity to play traditional Chinese board games, such as Chinese chess and Mahjong, or try your luck at a few new games we’re having! [Hint: one involves goldfish!]

You can also purchase mini mooncakes at our festival [$2.00 each].  Available flavors:  White Lotus Seed, Red Bean Paste, Green Tea, Date, Longan, and Pineapple!

Navigating the Career Fair Workshop!

[09.21.09]  CASA will be hosting a Navigating the Career Fair Workshop on Wednesday, September 23rd, from 7:30 – 9:30 PM in Union 3602.  All are welcome to attend!  The workshop will be moderated by Professor Frank Wright, Lally School of Management.  Learn the Do’s and Don’ts of presenting yourself, just in time for the NSBE/SHPE Career Fair [October 2 - 3, 2009].


Asian Awareness Weekend: Welcome Back BBQ!

[09.10.09]  The Asian Awareness Weekend Welcome Back BBQ will be taking place on Saturday, September 19, 2009, 12:00 noon, behind Commons.  Join us for some delicious food and socialize with members from RPI’s Asian organizations.  Participating clubs:  CSSA, CASA, ISA, JCA, RBC, PAL, PakSA, Pi Delta Psi, and TSA.  Hope to see you there!
